  • Is your house ready for 2023?

The new year is coming and that means many new trends for your interior! In this blog we look ahead to a new year full of home inspiration. Colors, styles and materials that make your living room completely 2023! There are suitable trends to discover for every living style. Wondering how you can give your home the most beautiful 2023 makeover? Then read on quickly. 1. CALM AND ORGANIC No right angles and cold materials, but soft and round. These are the characteristics of an organic living style and also one of the living trends of 2023. The soft lines in an organic interior provide a friendly and light appearance. You can see the organic shapes in other living styles for some time now, but in 2023 sofas and tables with round or irregular shapes will also appear more and more often. You can mix your organic furniture such as sofas very nicely with natural materials such as a wooden side table for an extra natural look. In short, combine organic shapes with colors and accessories that suit you for your own unique living room in 2023! 2. SUSTAINABLE LIVING IS THE NEW NORM Whichever living style you prefer, you will see more and more sustainable accessories and furniture in every home store. Recycled materials, sustainable fabrics or accessories that are produced locally. This trend is reinforced as we are increasingly confronted with the consequences of climate change. The choices we make in our interior also influence this. We all want to do something good for the world, and we show that in our interior by choosing sustainable materials. We therefore increasingly opt for a unique piece of furniture or accessory of high quality, instead of products that are mass-produced. This residential trend will therefore continue in 2023. 3. PROMPTLY ART DECO This eccentric living style from the 1920s will again be one of the living trends in 2023. This style uses rich colors, geometric patterns and luxurious materials. A little glitter and glamor should therefore not be missing. For example, hang a beautiful mirror or opt for curtains in a beautiful shiny fabric. The geometric patterns and right angles make this style almost the opposite of the organic living style described in trend 1. The luxurious materials and rich colors provide a hip yet attractive look in your interior. Do you think the extravagance of a completely art deco living room is too much? Then you can also give a subtle art deco touch to your interior by combining accessories in art deco style with a calmer base. 4. NATURALLY GOOD Green and beige tones combined with natural woods and fabrics such as linen and cotton. These are the characteristics that you see in the natural living style. This trend is nicely in line with the sustainable living trend of 2023 that we saw earlier in this article. In this style, also dare to play with materials that you encounter less often, such as cork and bamboo. You can also see natural and organic shapes more often in this interior trend. By using the natural tones you get a warm look in your home. Do you really want to bring nature into your home? Then be sure to get some lush plants and flowers to create your own oasis at home. Our tip? For an extra natural look, leave the black trend behind. Black is an accent color that we saw a lot in previous years, but which does not really give a natural look to your interior. 5. LAYERED SPACES In recent years, wide open spaces have become the norm in many homes. A kitchen that connects to the living room and where everything is connected. Open and spacious, but we are slowly seeing more and more people who still want to make a distinction between spaces in an open way. This is where the layered spaces trend comes in handy! This trend brings the layering back into your interior. For example, by using folding screens or other room dividers, you can add new depth to your interior, without reducing the massive character of a wall. You can also layer your interior with colors. For example, use different shades of the same color on the wall and in the art you hang on the wall. This trend is also very suitable for smaller spaces, because the layered spaces concept gives a spatial effect to your room. 6. BACK TO THE SEVENTIES - RETRO VIBES! We have seen the subtle features of the 1970s in interior trends for some time now – so also in the living trends of 2023. For example, in trend colors and prints. The longer this trend continues, the more pronounced the 1970s trends come back in our interior. For example, think of trend colors such as bright green, orange and brown. We also increasingly see materials from the 1970s in furniture, such as bouclé or a deep-pile carpet. As decoration, we see, among other things, that wall hangings do very well in this style! Are you going for a 70's look in the bedroom? Then choose a cheerful and colorful print for your bedding and of course a wallpaper with a beautiful print! Do you want to complete the 70s look? Incorporate chrome in your interior. For example in the kitchen, but you can also go for a bold accessory in chrome color. Which trend you follow...have fun with decorating and styling hour home! • Tech for a better future

Be inspired by the new interior trend of 2023, "TECH FOR A BETTER FUTURE". Celebrate the integration of technology to promote sustainable innovations. These interiors give a sense of purity, hygiene and well-being. Patterns bring back the liquid, aqueous, smooth and abstract shapes. You'll see finishes with rough textures, in addition to translucent surfaces, opaque and soft effects. Ultra-light yet resistant works that evoke biological structures, such as organic shapes and molecular-like forms, come to life thanks to bio and design. Biomaterials and plastic waste have an impact on the look and feel of the interior using 3D printing, artificial intelligence and bio-technologies. #2023 #trending #interieur #bio #refurbish #rebirth #3D #Aritficial #AI

  • I love wallpapers

Wallpaper, I love it. In all shapes and sizes. White walls in the house? Not with me. When I walk around at home, I want to be surprised in every room by a different atmosphere, color or experience. Wallpaper works perfectly with this. Wallpaper, old-fashioned? No way! Nowadays you can really make a statement with a wallpaper in your living room, kitchen or bedroom. I would like to share my love for wallpaper with you. Regularly I will dedicate a post to this fetish :-) HOW DO YOU STYLE A DARK INTERIOR? #styleitdark is a trending hashtag among our home influencers right now, and we're here for it! We love dark, dramatic and eclectic interior design, but do you dare to take the plunge when it comes to your interior? We are here to help you in 'style it dark' in style. Metal elements Add a glamorous edge to your bold metallic interior. Metallic embossed wallpaper designs are a great way to incorporate another element of depth into your space while adding character. Shiny metal designs reflect from the light to create the illusion of more space; ideal for those who decorate a smaller room. Whether it's an industrial rustic design or a glossy, lush leafy wallpaper, metallic wallpaper designs are there to add a luxurious feel to your home. Lighting When working with dark interiors, it is important to take into account the size and lighting of the chosen room. If your room is open or has large bay windows, dark walls and furniture can help create a more homely atmosphere inside. If your room is on the smaller side, with no natural light, lighting design becomes an essential part of creating your look. Include spotlights, wall lights, and floor lamps to really accentuate areas of the room you want to show off the most, while also giving you a more spacious feel anywhere. Wood accents Add warmth to a dark interior with earth tones and organic textures. Wooden furniture and flooring can be a great starting point in creating a warmer and cozier atmosphere in the dark interior. Wooden furniture and floors are undoubtedly durable and elegant, and a great addition to dark wallpaper. Color pops Dark interiors do not mean that every piece of furniture or accessory should be black or charcoal. Contrast your dark accent wall with a bold shade of paint or add styling of your favorite color to bring brightness and vibrancy to your room. Think lush blue, green, yellow and orange to give a higher feel to your look. Dark shades make a dramatic impact, but you can create a bolder statement by incorporating some color, whether that's through smaller soft accessories or large furniture. The use of the color black or charcoal adds a focal point that gives peace and adds a refined look to the chosen room. It doesn't matter if it's a bedroom, living room or kitchen, black accessories, lighting fixtures, wallpaper, paint and bold furniture will help to catch the eye and sharpen your home. • Bohemian: ALL IN or with a WINK

HOW DO YOU STYLE BOHEMIAN? There are a number of ways you can approach this eclectic look: You can go ALL IN, mixing any pattern, color, and texture you can think of. No more holding on. You can be more subtle by just adding a few eclectic touches to your room — think of it more as a nod to the bohemian style rather than the full meal deal. With the right attention to detail and the colors you choose, Bohemian can look super chic. Often rooms with a quiet or neutral basic palette with a few wild patterns are absolutely gorgeous and look incredibly chic! Whichever route you choose, bohemian interiors are perfect for achieving that cozy and inviting feeling. If you look at the bohemian interior inspiration photos below, the only element they all have in common is that they all look inviting. What is Bohemian especially not: sterile - perfection - interior is completely right - minimalistic - no color What is Bohemian above all: relaxed - warm - comfortable - eclectic - lively - colorful HOW CAN YOU ADD THE BOHO-CHIC ATMOSPHERE TO YOUR HOME? 1. A VARIETY OF TEXTURES One thing the boho house never misses is texture. Adding texture to your room can be achieved in so many ways! Think of: baskets planters made of different types of materials macrame tapestries rugs made of natural fibres colorful Persian or Turkish carpets wooden furniture upholstery even works of art and stacks of books are textural! Hang a tapestry, grab some crazy pillows and stack them on your couch. In boho style, the saying is "more is more", so add a lot of things you love! 2. LAYERS OF RUGS Layered rugs give you an extra opportunity to mix patterns and colors. It also adds even more texture to your room! Try to lay a vintage rug with a bright pattern over a jute rug made of natural fibers. Or low rugs that live within the same color family. 3. PATTERNS EVERYWHERE As with adding a lot of texture, patterns are key in boho décor. If you feel lost, try to choose an overarching color palette and work within it. For example, violet and gold, or rust and navy, or scarlet and mandarin. Remember to also leave room for your eye to rest, otherwise it can become a visual overload. So, if you have a large colorful rug, try to keep the basic décor fairly refined with just a hint of accent color that complements the great color statement of the carpet. The same would apply to hanging a tapestry that is a big burst of colors over your couch. Keep the sofa neutral and incorporate the same colours of the tapestry into the cushions. 4. PLANTS, PLANTS, PLANTS! The more the better! Plants just give that effortless "jungle" natural atmosphere, and they're amazing! I can't recommend filling your house with live plants enough. They can help add a ton of visual interest to parts of your room that feel empty. Cacti are especially popular in the jungle boho decor trend, so if you have access to some prickly friends, be sure to grab some! Serious people, plants = good vibes. 5. A GOOD MIX OF DIFFERENT LIGHT SOURCES String lights, lanterns, funky chandeliers, candles. Use them all! I always go on and on about the importance of lighting, in any décor style, and thinking about your lighting when creating a boho space is no exception. You can mix and match what kind of light sources you like, but I find what works best for the boho look are pendants made of natural fibers. 6. LOW LEVEL SEATING The boho philosophy revolves around sitting back, chilling and relaxing. Floor cushions, leather poufs, soft poufs and beanbag chairs, are all great low-level seating options to have, as they invite people to sit down and stay for a while. 7. DO NOT USE (TOO MUCH) BLACK If you're looking for chic bohemian décor, try to stay away from large, black furniture or large furniture in super dark wood. Stick to light, bright woods. Dark woods are quite heavy, while lightly bleached woods provide airiness and a clean background for the colors, patterns, and textures you add to your room. If you choose this approach, you should still try to remember to add one or two dark elements to anchor your room. 8. ADD VINTAGE OR HANDMADE FURNITURE I think it's possible to add a vintage piece to almost any décor style. But in this case of boho décor, second-hand furniture is really a MUST for the real boho look! Whether it's a side table, a chair or a vintage tray, adding something old will bring character to your room. If your frugal find looks TOO rough at the edges, try brightening it up with some colorful paint! 9. SOMETHING PAINTED IN A BRIGHT COLOR This could be a turquoise wall, a chair painted bright red in the corner, a beautiful cabinet painted lush tropical green – you name it! If the item is a little rough at the edges, even better! The bohemian look is far from sterile and perfect, in fact it thrives on those little imperfections that allow people to feel more relaxed and at ease in a space.
